The 7th annual Parent Weekend was held at Grootfontein College of Agriculture, Middelburg EC.  

From the left are Ms Karen Lee (Lecturer at Grootfontein), Mr Leonard Bokwe, Mr Vuyisa Vaaltyn (Student at Grootfontein), Ms Lulama Bokwe, Ms Retha Claassen, Mr Cobus Claassen (Chairperson of the Student Representative Council at Grootfontein), Ms Charné Claassen and Mr Corné Claassen.


The event provided the opportunity for interaction between lecturers and parents. Parents were informed about the course offered by Grootfontein and also had the opportunity to view exhibitions of the various Production Units.




The speakers at the opening of the 7th annual Parent Weekend at Grootfontein College of Agriculture, Middelburg EC were (from the left) Messrs Dries van der Walt (Lecturer), Strydom Schoonraad (Principal of the College), Willem Loock (Motivational speaker), Lukie Strydom (Guest speaker) and Andries Pretorius (Lecturer).


Mr Loock spoke about being observant and urged people especially to look at nature because there many lessons to be learned by being observant. Mr Strydom spoke about fracking and the fact-finding mission he undertook to the USA.
