Grootfontein reaches out a hand to prospective students from Middelburg
15% of the first year admissions of the Grootfontein College of Agriculture for 2015 is reserved for Middelburg students who meet the entry requirements to study at Grootfontein. This is a dedicated effort from the College to plough back into the local community.
The College is currently accepting applications for admission to the three year Diploma in Agriculture in 2015. The closing date for applications is 31 August 2014.
The admission requirements are as follows:
• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with admission to Diploma studies
• 50%+ for either English or Afrikaans
• Mathematics and Natural Sciences will be added advantages
The Diploma in Agriculture is made up of Animal Production, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Technical Skills and Strategic Business Management modules. The Diploma is accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) of the Council for Higher Education (CHE) at NQF level 6. All inclusive study costs are ± R35 000.00 per year for three years. Costs, without accommodation, are ± R17 000.00 per year for three years.
With this qualification a career as farmer, farm manager, advisor, sales representative or technician can be followed.
