Die rekenaarkursus wat deel is van die kortkursusse wat jaarliks deur die Landboukollege Grootfontein word, is onder meer bygewoon deur van links voor mnre Shadrack Mali van Van der Kloof en Kobus de Vry van Middelburg. A course on goat farming was introduced this year as part of the short courses offered annually by the Grootfontein Agricultural College. Seen here (on the right) with the group whom attended, is Mr Hans Greeff who presented the course. Amongst the topics covered are management, health, nutrition, mating and judging. Mr Greeff is a lecturer the College.
A course on the maintenance and repair of windmills was offered for the first time this year by the Grootfontein Agricultural College. It forms part of the short courses offered each year during the July holidays. Second from the right is Mr Elie Greeff who presented the course. Topics covered are parts, repairs of cylinders, pipes, heads, removal and replacement, as well as safety and maintenance.
The wool course presented by the Grootfontein Agricultural College provided those who attended with the opportunity to learn about wool classing by means of lectures, as well as practical work done in the wool shed at Grootfontein. This course forms part of the short courses offered annually during the July holidays. Seen here are from the left Ms Olivia Swiegers from Victoria-West, Mr Lesego Phakedi from the Northwest University in Mafikeng, Mr Ferdinand van Rooi, who presented the course, Ms Kebadiretse Hilda Sereo, also from the Northwest University in Mafikeng, Messrs Justin Kingwill and Adam Louw, both from Graaff-Reinet. Topics covered are throwing of the fleece, identification, judging, grouping, classing standards and packing. Mr Van Rooi is a lecturer at the College.
‘n Kursus in skaapbestuur is vanjaar die eerste keer deur die Landboukollege Grootfontein aangebied. Dit vorm deel van die kortkursusse wat jaarliks gedurende die Julievakansie aangebied word. Mnr André Snyman, aanbieder van die kursus, staan links agter. Die kursus het ondermeer die volgende onderwerpe ingesluit: voeding, paring, lam, kastrasie, merk van vee, dosering, inenting en bestuursprogramme. Mnr Snyman is 'n dosent by die Kollege.
The course in gas welding was one of the short courses offered by Grootfontein Agricultural College during the July holidays. Seen here on the left is Mr Rolf Herrmann who presented the course. Some of the topics covered were apparatus, safety, metals and techniques. The course was presented by means of lectures, as well as practical work done in the workshop at Grootfontein.
Mr Herrmann is a lecturer at the College.
