Grootfontein Short Course - July 2006



The course in building and maintaining a fence is one of the short courses offered by Grootfontein Agricultural Development Institute during the July holidays. Seen here with the group of people who attended are Messrs Samuel Twele and Elie Greeff (on the far right), who presented the course. This courses involved lectures, as well as practical demonstrations that covered topics like anchors, wire, netting and gates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Officers from the Witsand Nature Reserve in the Northern Cape attended the short course in basic electricity at the Grootfontein Agricultural Development Institute, Middelburg EC. From the left are Messrs Willem Tousen, Willem Neels, Frans Neels and Pieter Esterhuyse who presented the course. It is the first time the course has been offered at Grootfontein. Topics like safety, pipe bending and principles of basic electricity have been covered. Mr Esterhuyse is a lecturer at Grootfontein Agricultural College.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


A course in dairy processing is one of the short courses offered by Grootfontein Agricultural Development Institute, Middelburg EC during the July holidays. On the far right is Mr Johann van der Merwe who presented this course. He is a lecturer at the Grootfontein Agricultural College. The short courses offered also included the following: wool classing, arc welding, financial management, sheep management, venison, computers, fences, basic electricity and know and understand your tractor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A course with the theme ‘Know and understand your tractor’ was offered by Grootfontein Agricultural Development Institute as part of the short courses presented during the July holidays. Mr Pieter Esterhuyse, on the far left, presented the course by means of lectures and practical demonstrations. The focus was on driving and maintenance of a tractor. Mr Esterhuyse is a lecturer at the Grootfontein Agricultural College.
